Michael F. Simon Builders

What would you change about your home. Michael F. Simon Builders Quality Defined

What's going on at Michael F. Simon Builders?

We hope you had an enjoyable holiday with friends and family. Now that the holidays are over, it is time to get back to building and remodeling. In the next few weeks, we will be working hard to wrap up a new custom home that we have in progress. As we finish that home, we are looking for a new home to begin. If you have a friends who are considering building or remodeling, we would love the opportunity to talk with them. If you are looking to get out of the house, print off the free tickets inside this newsletter. Happy New Year and thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter!

Best regards,

Phil Simon

Past Project: Second Story Addition

This month's featured project is similar to last month's. The homeowner's chose to update the home they are living to better fit their lifestyle. This project is split into three different areas which include a first floor bathroom, second floor bathroom, and a master bedroom and bathroom. We began by updating the first floor bathroom. We removed the existing flooring, cabinet, countertop, mirror, lighting and plumbing fixtures. A new wood floor was installed before we put in the new furniture style vanity cabinet and mirror. Then to finish the space we installed a new light fixture, countertop, toilet paper holder, towel bar, and bath fan.

We did a very similar remodel in the upstairs hall bathroom. It was out with the old and in with the new furniture style cabinet, light fixture, mirror, bath fan, toilet paper holder, towel bar, countertop, base and casing. We also eliminated the existing clothes chute that the home owners didn't use by repairing the wall and painting it. Looking at the wall now, you would never know there had been a hole for a laundry chute. And, if you look close, you can see the new tile floor that was installed.

The biggest change happened in the master bedroom and bathroom. Here, we started by removing the popcorMaster Bedroom after Remodeln texture that was on the ceiling and replacing the existing bathroom window with a new Pella window with shades between the glass. A new "Old World" texture was plastered on the walls and ceiling. We replaced the existing door from the hall to the bedroom with a new sliding pocket door and then changed the layout of the existing shower. This allowed us to enlarge the shower, which was tiled and received new glass doors. It looks absolutely stunning!

A new furniture style cabinet was installed to match the bathrooms, and another pocket door was installed to close off the shower area. New, lighter colored base and casing was installed in the entire room before it was painted blue to brighten it up. Then, we installed new accessories; including a toilet paper holder, towel bar, bath fan, two mirrors and two light fixtures.
