What's going on at Michael F. Simon Builders?     Happy fall! Alright, it isn't fall quite yet, but it will be in a couple of weeks. That means starting those remodeling jobs now if you want them done before it gets cold. Did you know that our carpenters work year round? As long as we have all of the concrete work done before it freezes, we can work pretty much all winter outside. In addition to building new homes over the winter, we’ve also remodeled quite a few homes in the snow! Of course starting the work now means it will probably be done before we see snow. Past Project: "Kitchen Refresh" This homeowner came to us with one goal in mind. She wanted to transform her kitchen into a free flowing, stop you in your tracks, kitchen. We couldn't wait to get started. In the Kitchen, we removed the existing cabinets, countertops, backsplash, sink, faucet and range. Basically, the entire kitchen was redone. We also changed the door layout from the house to garage to be at an angle and create a better flow into the kitchen. A few of the corners on the walls were rounded off to create a softer feel instead of the sharp corners as you walk through the hallways.  Awesome new Dura Supreme cherry cabinets from Bella Domicile were installed. Sitting on top of those cabinets are beautiful Cambria countertops. The pictures don't do these cabinets and countertops justice! It looks absolutely stunning! A sleek new top of the line Black Jenn Air range adds a subtle touch of elegance to this already amazing kitchen. We installed a very nice Moen faucet, new ceramic backsplash and re-painted the walls. Everywhere you look, you'll see another small detail to add the overall warm cozy feeling. The TV that had been sitting on the countertop is now mounted onto the wall to extend and swivel out. Now the homeowners can watch TV while doing the dishes! Talk about multi-tasking! 
We didn't stop there though. We carried the same look and feel into the powder bathroom. The existing countertop, sink, faucet, cabinet, mirror, light fixture and toilet had to go. Then we re-painted it and installed a new vanity cabinet and countertop. Other details include a new light fixture over the framed mirror, a Kohler faucet, and comfort height toilet. This kitchen and bathroom went from a normal everyday-looking kitchen to a dream kitchen. No details were spared throughout this project. We are all finished now and couldn't be happier with the final result. This was an awesome project!
Wauktoberfest A fast growing fall tradition here in Waunakee is "Wauktoberfest". Admission to the event is FREE & the beer tasting is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
