What’s going on at Michael F. Simon Builders? Featured Project: Kitchen Refresh.

This month’s featured project is a Kitchen Refresh which brightened and opened up the entire kitchen and dining area. The owner’s came to us with a wish list and a target budget and asked what we could do to update their kitchen area. After a couple of initial meetings to talk about the scope of work, and establish some budget numbers, we had a plan.

The owner’s wanted an open concept, as their current layout separated the kitchen from the adjoining dining room. To achieve this, the new cabinet layout will not have any upper cabinets above the peninsula area. The existing cabinets, countertops and appliances were removed and new materials were installed.

New stainless steel appliances were selected to replace the old black appliances. The former range was electric, so a gas line needed to be installed for the new gas range. Beautiful new granite countertops were template and installed, along with a tile backsplash with a decorative glass accent.

Two new dimmable pendant lights were installed above the peninsula area where the old upper cabinets used to be. This really does a great job of bringing the dining room and kitchen together.
After a new coat of paint, this Kitchen Refresh project is finished.
