FEATURED PROJECT: Water Damage Repair and Window Replacement

This month, our featured project is a water damage repair and window replacement. 2014-11-19 15.20.16We were called in after the homeowner noticed the interior paint bubbling and water stains. The roof had previously been repaired after a hail storm, and was improperly flashed, causing water to run down the inside of the wall. This caused the wood framing and windows to literally rot from the inside out.

The existing windows and patio doors on the rear of the home, shown in the picture to the right, were removed and replaced along with the structural header and woodwork. The picture below on the left will give you an idea of the area that needed to be replaced.

Below on the right, you will see how extensive the damage inside the wall actually was. This piece of wood is the structural header that supports the weight of not only the wall above, but also the floor system for the first floor. The repairs have been completed and everything has been put back to normal. The project went so well, the clients are talking about remodeling the master bathroom next.

We are glad that we could help make this home look good again, but more importantly, we are happy that this home is now safe.
