March 2016 Newsletter

This month’s featured project is a master bathroom ReFresh. The homeowners were getting ready to put their home on the market and had a designer walk through the home to help them prepare it to sell. The home was in great condition; however, the master bathroom was a bit dated. It was wallpapered and a plastic shower module. It was suggested that the room needed a minor facelift, which is what we call a Refresh. The only catch was that the owners wanted the project finished by a particular date, which was in four weeks. That meant making selections and ordering the tile, plumbing fixtures and glass shower door ASAP!

The old shower module was removed, and to our surprise, we found that the plumber who installed the unit had cut the top cord of the floor joist. This required the subfloor to be removed and extra work to fix the floor joist before we could add the additional weight of the new tiles. The new tiled shower features a corner bench and niche to hold soaps and shampoo bottles. The shower head also incorporates a convenient handheld spray. The thick, clear glass door allows you to look into the shower (unlike the old frosted sliding door), and also makes the room feel larger.

To finish, we removed the wallpaper and gave the room a fresh coat of paint. Our homeowner wrote us the following note about the project…

“I am happy to write to you and say that the work on our project is completed, four days earlier than we had asked for it to be finished.  HOORAY!

Thank you and all of the people involved in this project for putting a ‘rush’ on this job and coming through with the work as you planned.  The weekly list of work to be accomplished was a tremendous way for us to know what to expect and to have a good sense of how the project was progressing overall.

Your company’s remodeling process is extremely impressive and IT  WORKS!

Again, thank you for responding to our request for help meeting a February 15 deadline.  The bathroom looks great!

We are just as happy as Karen is and would love to help you and your family experience a positive remodeling experience!
