What’s going on at Michael F. Simon Builders?
Just as we are finishing up a few wonderful projects with some great clients, we are also starting a few new projects this week. We are excited to show you some of the unique and exciting projects as we complete them over the next few months. Thank you for taking time to read our newsletter and for thinking of the Michael F. Simon Builders Team in your future building or remodeling plans. We greatly appreciate receiving calls from our past customers friends and family members!
Past Project: Master Bathroom Remodel
The new walk-in closet will have more shelving than the previous layout, but the most noticeable difference is the new custom walk-in shower. We went to work and gutted the entire bathroom. In the demo stage, our expert remodeling foreman, Bob, modified the floor joists to allow for a curb-less entrance to the shower. That means there is no step needed to get into shower. This gives the room a cleaner look as well as allowing the functionality needed for wheelchair access. The heavy custom glass door invites your eye into the beautifully tiled shower. The shower itself is an oasis in which the user can choose to use any combination of normal shower head, hand held sprayer, rain head or multiple body sprays. One of our recent projects was this Master Suite remodel. We were asked to transform the homeowner’s Master Bedroom and Bathroom into a relaxing Master Suite. The new suite would include a redesigned bedroom and, more noticeably, a luxurious bathroom with large walk-in closet and shower. The owner loves his existing home and does not plan on moving out as he grows older. Taking that into mind, our in-house designer, Dennis, went to work designing the new suite with the goal of producing a superior and functional Master Suite that lives up to our company’s demand for quality. We used the bathroom’s basic outline, moved the location of the small shower, and completely removed the soaking tub. The new layout follows the ADA (American’s with Disabilities Act) specifications so that if a wheelchair is ever needed, mobility and accessibility will not be an issue.
If the showering experience isn’t enough to make you feel like you are in a spa, the subtle features definitely will. Before you enter the bathroom, sensors will automatically turn on the lighting below the cabinets in the toe-kick area. The same sensor can be found when opening the closet door, so there is no need to look for the light switch. A heated tile floor and bidet, along with custom made recessed medicine cabinets, finish off this bathroom making it a perfect mixture of luxury and functionality.
